Gomorra Be Good Poem by Jake Andrews

Gomorra Be Good

In dreams I sleep
In ashes I lay
Through dark dreary days I stay
Long since the fortitude of my will has left in shatters
Through the eyes of old I see what matters
A life once full to overflowing
Like a new mother whose unknowing
A new awaking to this world is dawning
But for now this world sleeps readily to the beat
Sodom and Gomorra and end to which most will meet
Ignorance is ignorance, lay where you rest
You must not rise until your final test
For the Coming, of all to see and all to know
The farmers know that what he reaps he must sew
So love your life but give it freely
Open your eyes and learn from the greedy
From lust a subtle break in the rhythm
Imposed on all a set of rules and algorithms
Deception and betrayal are reoccurring themes
Nothing in this world will end up as it seems
Sleep somberly through the lies
For He does not care when the angel dies
