Gone Are The Days Poem by Cliff Phiri

Gone Are The Days

Gone are the days
Or
I should say
'the days are gone'

When you had to pride yourselves over me...
Killing my confidence and joy.
No more!

Think of those days
When I was but a waif in your eyes
In thoughts of redemption from you.
When in actual fact all you had_
Where a bunch of malfunctioning minds.

Ok.

Peace.

But see;
You proclaimed yourselves wise and all good;
But where is your tower?
Stones for the swallowing!

Like doormats-
You left us outside.
Dirty and you never let us in.
But see...

Life is a wheel gents
Got to handle it humble...
Else
Fools like us will surprise you.

The days are no more
When I wished to fly with you!
Yea
Kharma has hit you hard!

The wheel of time has turned
Glorious smiles on me.
Gone are the days! !
