Gone But Not Forgotten Poem by jeannie wischki

Gone But Not Forgotten

You were the light, when things seemed dark

You made me laugh, when I wanted to cry

You always saw the good, when I saw all the bad

You were forgiving, while I stayed mad

You were generous, sometimes to a fault

You'd shout your friends and go home broke

"Live life hard' you liked to say,

You were ready for a good time, anytime time of day

You would spend your last dime to have that good time

"Hang the expense" you would say,

"While some live for tomorrows, I live for today."

Even though oceans separated us, you remained a sister in my heart

And my life was more wonderful because you were a part

Our friendship will last forever, we would drunkenly agree,

"Until death drags us apart", and although you're now gone in body,

Forever you live in my heart
