Gone Forever Poem by Jasmine Ramos

Gone Forever

You didn't text me today, you didn't call.
The last time we spoke you said that soon you'd be gone.
I told you to stop, I begged you to live.
You simply said you'd be better off dead.
Now I'm wide awake staring at my phone,
The whole day has passed and I've been here alone.
The phone hasn't rung and I'm starting to get worried,
You clearly didn't know how much this would hurt me.
I have no way of knowing if you're here or you're gone,
But I have an odd feeling I won't stay clueless for long.
Deep in my gut there's a feeling of dread,
My heart bursts with pain at the thought that you might be dead.
