Good Friends Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Good Friends

Rating: 5.0

We were best friends ever
It seemed we will separate never
We used to remain together
We were daily going out to loiter

In studies too we shared
Helped each other and fared
We were good friends and very close
As if by good luck we were chosen

As bad luck would have it
We were suddenly hit
By mistrust and lack of confidence
We turned bitter foes at once

He will not cross his ways
I shall also try to be away
We exchanged no words for days
We had never stayed away like this way

Our parents feel bad
Friends circle also seems sad
He is very good at heart
But unfortunately we had to part

“We may meet again” I am confident
He is deliberately staying away at present
I too want to end the impasse
The word bitterness does not fall in good class

If stranger can become friends
Why good friendship must end?
It must last forever and remain strong
Even if one goes sometimes wrong

Agree wholeheartedly with the last stanza - good friends should remain so whatever may happen. A wise write. 13 Apr by Fay Slimm | Reply
