Good Mother Poem by Harrison korir

Good Mother

Very early in the morning she is awake
She is always passionate of her partake
She makes sure all her morning duties are done properly
She ensure her children gets to school early

She does all these whole heartedly
She never hesitate doing it repeatedly
She always have the support from her husband
How lucky she is to have a good husband

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

5) I think the poet lives in the thirteenth century. It is time someone arranged a "Time Machine' and transported him there, immediately. People like him continue to vitiate the human diaspora and culture and living conditions beyond repair.

4) " How lucky she is to have a good husband" … if ‘she' does all the domestic works ‘properly' and single-handedly, it is the kamchor husband who is lucky. And she is, by all means, the most "UNLUCKY' creature across the universe.

3) Again, are children her duty alone. " She ensure her children gets to school early"…is it ‘she' who has to ensure that? Why not the father of the ‘children? A totally shameful write. (Of course, I ignore the grammatical error)

2) the poet speaks about ‘her morning duties". Is the household maintenance and cooking and cleaning etc. "her" duties? Why her husband does not share them? Is it not his duty as well? Shame of ph for show-casing this chauvinistic write

This poem is grossly misogynistic, in my understanding. It is really unfortunate that PoemHunter has selected this poem as Poem Of The Day today.
