Goodbye Poem by tolu ogundare

Goodbye

I don't want to take goodbyes
For a toll of endless sighs
I won't take a groundless hiss
To a night that has lost its bliss
I won't wake to muse alone
When the long night ceases not to force a groan
I'll fasten my reins lest they falter
And so my drifting thoughts would not wander

When the time is nigh to go
I would rather take a long, long stroll;
Long enough to spin a good, good yarn;
Good enough to regale a gloomy morn
I would write me a sweet night song
And weave a great dream all night long
That, to me, is a good way to say a bye
Void of a bad-bye
