Remember the good old days
When we used to laugh and play
How the four of us would converge at ur house after church
How we were anxious to go to college
We argued over so many issues and still made peace
I remember when u came to Benin from Lagos
Just to pick me after an operation back to Lagos
I still remember the way you used to speak
Your smiles and frowns
I keep these memories safe in my heart for you
When i heard you had gone like my dad
My heart broke in two
Tears fell down my cheeks
Faster than a waterfall in the forest
Only if i could hear ''it's a joke''
You died at such a tender age
At your lying in state
I saw you far asleep, lying alone
In the endless calm of your dawn-less night
Too silent in sorrow
It hurts cos there's nothing i can do or say
To bring you back to life
Though you're gone
You're not forgotten
But i have to say ''Goodbye James''
