Goodbyes Poem by David Thomas

And so this is me saying goodbye
to the world i'm leaving behind,
i'm walking into the fire of my heart
and i'm not coming back
i'll say goodbye to those who matter
and maybe some who don't
knowing i'll never be the same,
i'm willing to take that risk
and at the same time i'm scared,
but of what i am not sure
regardless of my delay
i'm writing here to say
it was so worth the good
the memories i will forever cherish,
the fun we've had,
and oh how we've both grown from the pain...
i'm just writing to say goodbye,
i'm going to disapear
and i know i may one day
live to see the regret in this choice
but don't waste time looking,
just live and be happy,
afterall isn't that what life is all about?
living to the fullest?
well let's both start...
