Growing Cold Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Growing Cold

I’ve lost the love I had at first
Growing cold is true desire
I know I should have much more thirst
And climb yet so much higher

I never thought that this could be
Life’s Fire burned so bright
But now the way is hard to see
I miss Your Guiding Light

I’ve heard and seen it oft before
Backsliders aren’t so rare
I need to be salvation sure
And spend more time in prayer

But Lord its hard to seek Your face
Growing harder day by day
I feel so lost and in disgrace
Please help me find The Way

A little here a trifle there
The worldly fruit looks sweet
Until I feel I’ve lost life’s share
At Christ my Saviour’s feet

Restore my faith my true desire
Let peace and joy be mine
Rekindle deep inside Your Fire
And fill my cup with Wine

You know my heart You know my name
We know I’ve done You wrong
Forgive my sin remove my shame
Allow me sing life’s song

That I might sing again Your praise
Declare Your grace and love
Allow my blessed remaining days
Be service to above

This is a nicely written original prayer. Great rhythm and rhyme used also. Good read
