Guardian Poem by Morgan Uptain

Guardian

Here I stand so close to the edge. I feel the powerfull wind surround me.I close my eyes and breath deep the cool, crisp air. It will all be over soon.I step closer. My toes hang over the edge. I can see the bottom. The jagged edges and sharp points. This will definently be my last breath. I look up to the sky. 'I'm sorry.' I jump. The wind screams in my ears. My hair flies as if in terror of my empinding doom. I look at the bottom a few seconds longer, then I close my eyes. 'Goodbye.' But I do not hit the ground. The wind has stopped screaming, and my hair lays flat on my sholders. You hold me in your arms. We are near the edge. I look at you. Your wings glisten in the sunlight. Your eyes are full of pain. You take me in your arms again. I sigh. 'My Liam.'
