Had To Go On Poem by Joanna Pavlides

Had To Go On

Life is calling
But I am still stuck
Free me darling
Or let's go back

To days of illusion
Of stolen days
When we felt blessed
And thought it was fate

Like soul mates
Meant to meet but not go on
We had only hours
And never days

And then I had
to go on and go away
In search of perfection
Fleeing from pain

Of wanting but never taste
Being the only one
The light of dark night
And Sunray of day

Only for thee

Was never meant to be
