Haiku / Creation Poem by Mangesh Sonawane

Haiku / Creation

In death comes the peace
Of everlasting silence
I rest forever.

Bring me love tonight
I shall forever keep it
And with it our dreams.

In silence, the moon
Hath cast its brilliant light
Cool and calm within.

The sky meets the sun
In a blaze of warm glory
See the world alight.

Cool cold mountain air
Touch my skin, loving finger
I fall in love here.

Yellow Eyes
The Predator looked
Then I die.
(Note: this is a 3-5-3 Haiku)
Twitchy nose
Smell the fish I bring
Pounce and eat.
(Note: 3-5-3)

From the open sea
Rose he, the playful Dolphin
Splashing in water.

Beauty of nature
Sunset upon the ocean
Then I feel the peace.
_______________________

The night is all dark
But for the soft light of Moon
Lighting up my path.

Life is short and sweet
Live it the way you want to
It is never late.
_______________________

What is death?
The end of the world,
Or just you?
_______________________

Goodbye, dear old friend.
Though no more you live on earth,
In my heart, you do...
_______________________

Her eyes locked with mine
And mine within her gaze
I lose myself there.

_______________________

Why is love so big?
Yet small beyond comparing?
It feels like a tease.
_______________________

The night sky is clear
The moon and its pretty glow
Come take me away.
_______________________

The bells ring in town
With the tinkle of laughter
Christmas has arrived.
_______________________

I think nought but her
And still I sometimes wonder
Am I in her thoughts?
_______________________

Why mother nature
Are you so near to our thoughts
Yet far far away?
_______________________

Leaves shake in the trees
Make their lovely rustling sound
Spring is upon us.
_______________________

The beauty of song
Falls upon my thirsty ears
Soothing my parched soul.
