Walls of Jericho
Marched around for seven days
and then they fell down
Dear Allen, I know you are good about writing poems; that I personally would not know how to compose. First, the subject matter: The Walls of Jericho is very good Old Testament theme about an actual event. Second, the context: I really like how you used your main sentence the walls of Jericho. It tells your reader about your topic. What did they do? March around for seven days. You took a simple sentence and turned it into an excellant poem. What happened? and then they fell down.. This is my advice: keep composing poetry on this website. My e-mail address is: roxannedubarry98@yahoo.com. For your type of poetry ask yourself the three w's and the one h. Who, What, When, Why, and How. That is a simple trick they teach all beginning journalism students. I sometimes use the question and answer technique. First I ask myself a question. Is it a lovely way to spend a beautiful day? Answer Because the song birds are singing a beautiful melody especially just for me and you. It's a lovely way to spend a beautiful day. The song birds are singing! The song birds are singing! A beautiful meldoy just for me and you. And isn't God's awesome sky a beautiful shade of blue? And I can think of no one else I'd like to spend this perfect day but you. It may not be perfect poetry. But do you get the picture? Maybe you could compose a similar type of poem for your special friends?
