Happy Tears Poem by Richard D Remler

Happy Tears

Rating: 5.0

........

These are happy tears,
They're not from grieving.
I'm thrilled from head
To toe she's leaving.

There will be no more
Trembling with fear.
I have a grin
From ear to ear.

She left some scars,
But, Oh, they'll heal.
Those prison bars
Of hers were real!

She had me shackled,
She had me bound.
She terrified me
Pound for pound.

And if it were not
By God's Own Grace,
She'd surely have
Destroyed the place.

How she tried to tear
My world asunder.
To pilfer, pillage,
Plow it under.

I hear renewal comes
In shades of shale,
And I'm free from this
Dark prison cell.

No, these tears are not
The grieving kind.
These are the thank my stars
She's leaving kind.
