Harsh And Too Blatant Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Harsh And Too Blatant

Lockstepping in formation.
With determination they are armed,
Against anyone who speaks the truth.
About their failed religious affiliations.
And crumbling established foundations.
Only misguided beliefs produced.
Instead of accepting truth they won't do.
With a unity to prove,
Their assistance is needed.
To restore a quality of life.
Done to do without resentment or consent given.

Picking up shattered pieces.
To cement them together.
Restoring back a quality of life.
Their deluded minds claim is missed.
Although inflicting upon themselves,
Is division, bigotry and racist conflicts.
Permitted and allowed.
With this to accept,
Protects their entitlements.

And yet...
They've been made too blind to see.
That every expectation,
To live life to pride with quality.
Developed done to have been created,
From an involvement and diversity...
Of every aspect of humanity.
Those who protest,
Are too unconscious of that to accept.
Protect and flourish.

"What on Earth are they doing to themselves? "

-Showing an alternate and updated way,
To express their love? -

"Does that look like love to you? "

-I have seen people brawling in the streets.
Until the police arrive.
But no one wants anyone arrested.
Claiming their love for one another.-

"Not only is that stupid but crazy too! "

-Then...
They are all stupid and crazy people.-

"No!
That would be too harsh and too blatant.
And too judgemental of an assessment."

-But, you just said that.-

"I know.
However...
Observing this most of my life,
I've grown accustomed...
To cutting them some slack.
They will kiss and make up.
And within 24 hours,
This same scene will be repeated.
It use to be just a black and white thing.
Now 'everybody' is in on the action."
