Hating The Refugee Poem by Randy McClave

Hating The Refugee

Sad, that we hate the refugee
If through Gods eyes we could only see,
They too are his sons and daughters
Sadly, they're not as rich as the Yachters.
Joseph was sold into slavery in Egypt
There he was a refugee and all knew it,
He then became a viceroy
And he brought the people much joy.
As a refugee Moses wandered in the desert for forty years
Unto different lands and with different fears,
And God moved them to a different land
As refugees it was all planned.
Jesus was a refugee and an itinerant preacher
He was known as the teacher,
He traveled by foot and by camel and by boat
As he too was a refugee as the Bible had wrote.
The early disciples were refugees as well
The Lord said of his word to the gentiles tell,
So, as refugees they traveled to Rome, Africa and Caucasia
And they were even sent to far off Asia.
Sad, that refugees many do hate
Pain, suffering and hardship many wishes their fate,
So, before we hate the refugee from dusk to dawn
Remember, God was once one.
