Have Mercy On Me Son Of David - Poem by Gideon Arthur

I'm willing to walk in your steps
To thread in thy Holy paths
But I'm too weak to take your steps
Have mercy on me Son Of David

I'm willing to love as you did
To have comp'sion for others
But I'm selfish to take the bid
Have mercy on me Son Of David

I want to sacrifice my life
To call unto you the Lost
But love not others but my life
Have mercy on me Son Of David

I want to daily read your word
And learn what you have for me
But too busy to take thy word
Have mercy on me Son Of David

I'm willing to every night pray
As you did in your earth days
But I'm too weak to at night stay
Have mercy on me Son Of David

I want from heart willfully give
To help the poor and needy
But I'm too in love with money
Have mercy on me Son Of David

My strength is vaporized by flesh
Under the bondage of sin
Your grace can give me blood that's fresh
Have mercy on me Son Of David
