Have We Forgotten Poem by Rayno Elroy Davids

Have We Forgotten

Excuse me, look at me, please?
I request your eyes' heartfelt gaze-
when we disregard all forms of that which we chose to undertake in the coarse of momentary rage-
have you ever stepped back outside of the moment?
Outside us, to examine the issue?
Life, did you create love as a means of torture, or celebration.
Is it what we make of it, does my mentality however unwavering it may be, inhibit me from total under- over- innerstanding- through denial!
Acceptance, why do you escape me like a prisoner breaking free from his cell?
Love, when i see you, why at times does your look frighten me?
Appreciation please teach me how to love again, to be affectionate,
shall i kneel, shall i bend til i break, upon request, i will!
This our undertaking has produced a life of love.
My queen, we're finally a family
