Ellsworth Soares, a U.S. G.I.
Came back home after World War II,
But not a college kind of guy,
The G.I. Bill he did not do.
But years later, Hazel, his wife
Used Ellsworth's benefits from then
To pursue a new college life,
Graduated two thousand ten
At the young age of 94,
And grateful for the G.I. Bill
Making real now, her dreams before,
Giving her the help to fulfill.
The G.I. Bill made history,
Like Hazel Soares and her degree.
