He Cheers My Heart
He cheers my heart O Hallelujah
I now stand steadfast in Him
With a spirit of great thanksgiving
For His forgiveness of my sin
He did not leave me struggling
In my state of hopelessness
But offered up His Word as solace
For what grace He has given us
In His love my blest Redeemer
Took my place at Calvary
To offer unto me a pardon
With His love unconditionally
All of my work was just repentance
Turing away from sin and unto God
When my eyes were fixed on Jesus
His saving faith was understood
Not alone now am I living
For Christ lives inside of me
Each day filled with that bright hope
That one day soon He'll return for me
Who can cheer the heart like Jesus
Praise God He's still centre stage
Safe and secure AM I in His keeping
Though all around me battles may rage
For He the Eternal who made time
As an entity to reckon our deeds
Will suffice for every believer
For He meets our deepest need
That of knowing Christ as Saviour
Who for our sin was Crucified
And one day we shall behold Him
In His presence glorified!
Hallelujah what a Saviour!
