He Dropped Me Poem by Cami Lindsey

He Dropped Me

That first night
Was so beautiful
That first light
And I was so sure

You wrapped me up in your arms
Nothing could ever harm
The love that we shared
Everyone thought we were the perfect pair

The bind we had
Was like roses for him
The time we shared
Was so fun and then
He changed to something I couldn't stand
He dropped me, He dropped me

That first night
Was so lonely
That first fight
And all that I couldn't see was revealed

You tore out my heart
Tried to rearrange the pieces
You locked me up
Tried to hide who I am

The bind we had
Was like roses for him
The time we shared
Was so fun and then
He changed to something I couldn't stand
He dropped me, He dropped me

And all I wanted
Was for him to want me
I worked so hard
Just to be seen
I'd cry for hours
Just to be finally heard

The bind we had
Was like roses for him
The time we shared
Was so fun and then
He changed to something I couldn't stand
He dropped me, He dropped me
Yeah, He dropped me
