He Touched Me Poem by Edwina Reizer

He Touched Me

He touched me so I knew his love
was warm and intimate too.
First my hand, then my arm
and the minutes how they flew.
My heart was touched and when it beat
the blood pounded in my ears.
How long had it been for his touch to reach me?
It seemed eons of years.

He touched me and I felt his love
was more than I could bear.
Now my neck, then my lips
and for seconds I knew not where
or how this fleeting time could stay.
I sensed my composure was totally gone.
How long would his touch come my way?
Would it forever go on?

Smooth was his hand upon my skin
and I was lost in a world of love.
Gentle was his hand on my waist
and the skies opened up above.
My heart was his and then I knew
what love was all about.
It was all about the touch he gave
that I could never do without.
