Headache Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Headache

When someone stops trying to explain,
What does not or will not make sense...
To someone else.
Maybe they should listen and ask why,
Before attempting to be logical.
Especially when times like these,
There is little logic left to exist.
With more proving the having of it,
Is useless finding examples...
Of where it is applied and its benefits.
And who it was that started the rumor,
That having common sense and being logical...
Was something many lived to want and achieve.
But, for whatever the reason,
Those folks are not admitting...
That task had been accomplished.
In fear of being threats to the ones,
Wishing not to reveal themselves to be thinkers!

"If you are going to understand anything,
You have to first use your mind.
Attempt to be logical."

-Why? Are you crazy?
And have people laughing at me? -

"Do you want to be stupid for the rest of your life? "

-It seems to work for a lot of other people.
And I ain't heard nobody complaining.
Or trying to explain it either.-

"What about the future?
Your future? "

-When it comes I'll be ready for it.
So what's the big deal? -

"You...
Are giving me a headache."

-Uh...
Excuse me.
If you are the one doing the explaining,
How is it possible...
You can accuse me,
For something I did not offer to give?
'Logic' your way out of it! -
