Heart Of Sanctuary Poem by James Darwin Smith II

Heart Of Sanctuary

Heart of sanctuary
So far away
Gypsy excursions
Like a restless feather
Blowing in
A never-ending wind

Silently traveling
To one place to another
Going ahead
Falling back again.

Endured so many dreams
Of beauty
That felt so real
Only to be shown
As fake prophecies
To these slumbering eyes
As they open
With visions
Beyond what
They could have ever seen

Unstable things must be
To the experienced traveler

Searching for peace
Of mind and body
Trying to adapt
To the chaos
All from within

If only
Things were different
And all hope
Was on its way back
Through wishes granted
In the name of open arms
Without metaphors
All in a literal sense
Of a resting wellbeing

Heart of sanctuary
Exists somewhere, out there
Upon the furthest reaches
Of these dreams
But with that
I must always be brave
And strive upon this journey
Being stronger
Than I have ever been before

In love
But in so many different ways

I know how things are
Just wishing
The within
Was the most important thing
That ever really mattered
In the sacred sense
Of all and anything

Heart of sanctuary
Will you be unconditional?
Once and for all?

Love, live forever
In a modest reign

Heart of sanctuary
Send me hope
In the name of free will

Heart of sanctuary
I will always be there
For you

I am yours
Through and through

Come forth
As if there was no tomorrow

I miss you
If only
You knew how I felt
All from within

The most I can do
Is love

Does that even matter anymore?
