Heaven

window transparent souls stare with a gaze
thoughts distracted a windowless pain

I feel thy heart beat a drum playing true
stand up here with me as a dust settles through

a man but can scar a man's fragile heart
fear of fearing death a taste thats too tart

I have heard it all I'll see better days
I have lived no life yet, yet I have out last my stay

but I have one thing left I feel I must say
The window will close on that rainy day

And on that drum the drummer will play
a song just for me on lifes graduation day

when I make it to heaven and those pearly gates

Poem of the Day

poet Paul Laurence Dunbar

The mist has left the greening plain,

The coquette rose awakes again
Her lovely self adorning.
