Hell You'Ll Have To Pay Poem by Luke Easter

Hell You'Ll Have To Pay

If it’s hell I have to pay,
Lord whatever it takes,
To cover my transgressions,
And pay for the mistakes.

What I consider a little,
You say there’s a lot,
As long as I don’t get my mail,
In Satan’s melting pot.

With You I will not argue,
About this disputed call,
I may only play understanding,
Knowing it’s Your court, Your ball.

Only God makes the rules,
Mankind easily seems to forget.
This is not bargain basement central,
And run to our union reps.

Batting.300 in this lineup,
Does not make you great,
Do a crossover dribble,
Shake your head and faint.

Fancy moves to do on earth,
Unless you’re up against a line,
Of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John,
Great players from another time.

OK, OK, so why did you write this?
Is it Christian Poetry, what did I miss?
It’s just a way to let others see,
There’s more in store for you & me.

You and I have way too long,
Made ourselves to be big and strong,
Forgetting that is not our place,
But from God’s unmerited favor and grace.

Not giving the credit where credit is do,
Believing success is only up to you,
Only one referee makes the final call,
And that is God who owns the ball.

So who may be on this team?
Anyone one who wants to play,
If you fail to follow the rules,
Then hell you’ll have to pay.
