Help! Poem by Marilyn Lott

The day started out pretty normal I’d say
As we all got together to spend a nice day
Hats and coats on to take a little ride
Away from the wonderful place we reside

But something happened as we started off together
We had a little problem with the trusty elevator
It suddenly just seem to stop
Didn’t want to go up and didn’t want to drop

We all looked at each other with a smile at first
Didn’t know whether to think positive or the worst
Does anyone know about our plight?
Or would we be here throughout the night?

We were shoulder to shoulder these friends and me
Or Lord, help us for we’d like to flee
It started to get stuffy, now please don’t shove
Thought I’d say a prayer to the guy above

But then, we heard an exciting noise
Help was on the way so we began to rejoice
Sure enough the doors were pried
So those doors would be able to slide

Oh well, we had a nice visit anyway
Even though it wasn’t a placed we’d stay
We were on our way once again
Continued our journey to take a little spin!
