Her Broken Smile Poem by Fallen Pixie

Her Broken Smile

Every day you watch her,
as she struggles to put on her face.
Eyeliner, mascara, and her
broken smile.
She goes about her day,
smiling at the appropriate times,
engaging in converstation,
and seems to be happy.
Yet, all they truly see is her
broken smile.
She smiles and laughs on the outside,
yet, crumpling to pieces on the in.
She tries so hard to be strong,
and no one sees past it.
All they see is her
broken smile.
As she gets to the safety of
solitude, her tears begin to flow.
Smudging her perfectly applied
eye liner and mascara, as
her broken smile crumples to the ground.
She picks the pieces up and puts them
in the HELP box.
She tries to pull herself together,
as she prepares for another day.
This is the girl they think they
know so well, as she dazzles
them with her
broken smile
