Here I Stay Poem by Erwick Brandon

Here I Stay

My heart is broken.
So is my compass.
Your my North Star.
Now bring me home.
Your my lighthouse
When I'm lost at sea.
The light at the end of the tunnel.
Your the silver lining in any scenario.
My home away from home.
I found my other penguin.
Please take this pebble as a token.
The scars we have run deep.
But we can see what's underneath.
No one understands.
But who cares about them?
You're my focus.
My priority.
Don't mind what they say.
We'll show them one day.
I'm dying to hear your voice.
I hate that I don't have a choice.
It's out of my control.
I feel numb.
I feel dull.
Null.
What's stopping me from seeing you?
A car ride?
A walk over?
Things so simple, yet impossible.
Your just on the other side of my phone.
That's too far.
I need you here.
I need you near.
But until then I must steer clear.
But you are my umbrella when it rains.
My jacket that faces whatever the weather brings.
Your the sweet sound that comes out of my guitar.
When I play, it feels like you're really not that far.
I'll try to stay positive and I ask that you do the same.
One day soon, everything will change.
I will wait for you if you will wait for me.
Nothing will change my feelings.
Your it for me.
So here I stay.
Here I wait.
