Hesitation Poem by Sophia Alexopoulos

Hesitation

Rating: 5.0

The gates are standing open
On the eve of my despair
A fierce wind swirls around me
Dancing in my hair
The bright sun is setting
Bringing darkness into bloom
I cannot tell which way to go
The night has come too soon
I find that I am lost
Among the roses and the weeds
The path I take from this cold place
Rests not on thoughts, but on deeds
Oh, what I would give
For one brief moment of insight
No time to ponder consequence
I know I must take flight.
