High And Costly Is The Price Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

High And Costly Is The Price

I may not live to see or believe,
Crimes committed...
By those thriving on ignorance,
Finally die.

Or corruption permitted,
Done to lawlessly sit...
In positions of leadership.

But...
This I know,
Shown to be high in price.
And costly an expense.
The inflicting of misery,
Upon those defenseless and innocent.
Has a way to return,
Such a burning heat.
Felt to prolong ongoing not to cease.

Destroying comfortable nests.
Leaving not a second,
Or a minute of mental rest.
For anyone who accepts to believe,
They have become immuned...
From the evil fires they have set.

Causing to create,
Division, racism...
And conflicting hatred.
Done with intent.
To do to think,
God will provide them with an escape.

This to delude,
Does not include reality.
Anywhere on Earth.
Shown to reveal with evidence proven!
