High School Heaven Poem by Joshua Mccoy

High School Heaven

A way to enshrine a name in fame and infamous glory is to die in high school.
Your hopes and schemes,
Are glorified beyond your wildest dreams,
And your life becomes a story book read by millions over and over again.
Those you never even heard of become your closest and best friends and claim to know you inside and out at your funeral. Your name and death are etched on the skin of many and you become exponentially more popular than you ever were while you were alive. The tears shed for you are faked just for an individual to get a taste of your overwhelming fame. Yes, a wide and intense whirlpool sweeps through these halls at high speed and bring about feelings of;
Loss and Despair,
Jealousy and Facade,
Heartbreak and Tears,
Overwhelming Fear,
Indifference but Support.
You are remembered as a legend when your death occurs in high school.
However…
You are discarded as a waste of space with good riddance when your death occurs in the real world.
