High Sierras Poem by Gregory Huyette

High Sierras

Marauding mountains meander mysteriously
Piercing the sky as far as I can see.
A chorus of nature’s hypnotic silence speaks volumes to me.
These gentle monsters so majestic and high

Send soothing messages when their breezes sigh.
At times as I gaze I can’t help but wonder
If they are from an almighty artist or just nature’s blunder.
Then I realize they have been designed by an infinite hand
Far beyond the scope of anything I understand.
