His Love Goddess Poem by Wayne Falconer

His Love Goddess

Love goddess
arrived late tonight.
Brought her beauty
showered him with her charms.
Lay down her mystery
her incantations swallowed the night.

Flat at midnight reeled
before her onslaught.
Love and lust steamed
smoke rising from four walls
as he was laid bare.
Made again reborn naked.

The stars breathed above
strong wind in clouds blew.
Dark night shadow faces danced
the whole world evaporated.
Only love goddess and he remained
to labour the passions of night.

And tomorrow the only change
gone will be love goddess.
Leaving alone frozen lover
left to solitary meditate
upon day sunshine and life.
His love goddess gone away.
