Hold On Poem by Piccola Topo Gigio

Hold On

May I remind you when you’re doubting,
May I remind you when you’re troubling,
When you’re thinking of leaving,
When you’re considering deceiving.

May I remind you when you’re about to give up,
May I remind you when you’re about to bail out,
When you think you’ve had enough,
When you consider it to be too rough.

She’s growing old. Sure.
She’s not looking, like ten years before.
Her skin, changing,
Her youth waning.

But she’s been there for you,
All those years, seeing you through,
She’s been giving herself to you,
Her life, faithfully, loyally, true.

May I remind you when you choose to betray,
When in your impetus, you’re bound to stray,
You’ve built this stronghold together,
You’ve held on tight to her, altogether.

Don’t let her go now,
Now that she seems to be down,
Now that she seems to lose it all,
Afraid, she’s no longer good, after all.

Remember the first days,
You overcome your first trials,
Remember you longed to stay,
Because without her, it was nay.

Remember all of this when you dwell.
Remember it well,
And hold on.
It’s worth keeping it, going on.
