Hollow Promises

Hollow promises

What promises have to do?
And prove true
If they lack personal resolve
And solve nothing

Forget about true utterances!
If they are said once
For self-consumption
And lead to more deterioration

Hardly few can travel on this tricky world
Many fail and go for the sufferings untold
It is not an easy task
You may touch the low ebb despite making a good start

I will do this and do that!
But you are eating humble pie and get caught
Like seasoned politician
We prove simple mathematician

If one sticks to the simple calculation
He needs to run after no personification
Life is awkward and needs correction at every stage
Compromise at some level and simply manage
