Home Poem by Nightshade Starlight

Home

You tell me this is my home.
This is where I belong,
Where I grew up,
Where all my memories are
And they're here waiting for me.
This is where my life was,
In this house of white.
My family lives here,
Where everything seems happy.
The dogs are playing,
The cat is lazy.
The cool breez drifts through the house,
While the leaves outside change color.
This is where I played as a child,
With a sister and a family.
A life that could be perfect.
You remind me of these things,
Every day it seems.
But what you don't know is how I really feel.
This is my prison.
These are the walls that have trapped me.
The white house that has incased me.
This isn't home, this isn't where I belong.
This is a fortress where I can't seem to escape.
