Hooked Poem by Colin Coplin

Hooked

You got me hooked, fish baited with just one look
You got me sunk, never been schooled, I'm so love struck
You got me fried, a small fish out of water
Scaled, dried and hung up to order
Don't sympathize with me, unless you swam in my shoes
I got the blues for her, ocean blues for her
I got to, got to, got to get away
Or end up as the main course on her plate today
I've been hooked

You got me tantalized, mesmerized with those mermaid eyes
Capsized, on midnight sea tonight,
I'm so love struck, I'm in over my head, netted in your web,
A deep sea flyer, now mantle mounted by Neptune's daughter
Don't sympathize with me, unless you spent time in my shoes
I got the blues for her, ocean blues for her
Got to, got to got to get away,
or end up as the side course on her plate today
I've been hooked

I've been hooked, snap frozen, cooked
I've been hooked, snap frozen, cooked
I've been hooked

You got me hooked, fish baited with just one look
You got me sunk, never been schooled, I'm so love struck
You got me fried, a small fish out of water
Scaled, dried and hung up to order
Don't sympathize with me, unless you swam in my shoes
I got the blues for her, ocean blues for her
I got to, got to, got to get away
Or end up as the main course on her plate today
I've been hooked
