Hope Poem by Ruby Q=Petersen

Hope

I kiss your thoughts good morning,
Your voice held me throught the night.
Sometimes I confuse you with God,
Knowing that's really not right.

You are my memories of
Father, husband, brother;
Yet my fantasies crumble
One after another.

They parade through my dreams
Each wearing your face;
Through a fog of soft music
You stand in their place.

I beam with pride at your sincerity,
Your studied courtesy is a wall;
I'm sure you're ninety percent God
Or I couldn't believe you at all.

My fantasies now
Are worn very thin,
Please open your heart
Please let me in.

Thank you for touching my life.
