Horrid Surprises
A powerful voice
Screaming in my head
It wants me to change -
Change something -
But it's so loud I can't even understand
Or think about what it might want
Deafening shouts
Whenever I am still
Painful cries
Whenever I hold my breath
Why am I deaf?
I want to understand
Why life holds such horrid surprises
Whenever peace arises
