Houdini Poem by Edwina Reizer

Houdini

He pulled the Houdini act.
He escaped in front of my eyes.
His hands were tied
but he just slipped away,
just disappeared and
what could I say?

My eyes weren't ready
He'd always been my steady.
but now he was gone.
He never said to me one word.
He just flew away'like a free flyin' bird.

I wonder if I find him
can I bring him back to me
or will he tell me there's someone else
and I wonder if she
will see him pull the Houdini act
and try to bring him back?

I guess he's just a roamer
and not the one for me.
But I sure do miss him.
But I know he'll always be
Houdini, the escapee
and not the one for me.
