How can I be something I'm not?
How can I be what I thought you forgot?
The years have taken their toll on me.
How can I be how you remember me?

How can I be completely yours?
The years have closed some of those doors
that were open wide and slowly did close.
But it never sealed completely for love always goes

and frees itself from ending too soon.
For you look at the stars. You look at the moon
and you feel that love inside.
Then you realize that it never died.

And so you become something you're not.
You become the one he never forgot.
As the years disappear from your view,
you become just as he remembers you.
