How can I tell you
the word only my heart can say?
How can I tell you
how much you brighten up my day?
How can I tell you
what you mean to me?
How can I tell you
what I want us to be?

Life gives us so many twists and turns,
so much that you just want to scream and burn.
Life gives you choices every day,
so many that you don't have time to play.
Life makes sure you pay your dues,
so then how can I tell you?

I want to burn the pictures of the past
but I worry that I'm moving to fast.
I want to tell you that I think I'm ready,
but what if you don't want to go steady?
I have to speak my heart true,
but how can I tell you?

I have to stop thinking about only myself
and maybe put my love back on the shelf.
It takes two to make this decision.
It takes two sharing the same vision.
If I don't even know what to do
then how can I tell you?
