Huldra Poem by Ima Ryma

Huldra

A married man on holiday
By himself did go on a walk
Deep in a forest in Norway.
He met a woman, they did talk.
In fact she was a huldra who
Was not human and so tried
To lure the man to say, 'I do, '
And turn her human as his bride.
It did not matter that he be
Already married, she would still
Try to get an answer and he,
A yes or no, maybe she'd kill.

Maybe she will, maybe she won't,
Damned if he does, damned if he don't.
