Human Almost, Hanna Poem by Dennis Ryan

Human Almost, Hanna

Human almost, Hanna, so social our calico
that she calls to me from the kitchen when
It is time to eat "breakfast", wants me to join
her. Words like "remarkable" and "incredible"
come to mind, "love" and "kindness" too as
she opens doors inside the house, enters
and leaves of her own behest much of the time,
and all ewe can do is appreciate her mind
and actions, reminding us of the strength
of our calico's gene pool, and our own,
whether it be feline or human, our Hanna
human almost, and we, well, part cat.
