The human life is marked by desire,
A newly born desires to cry,
An hour old desires to be fed.
A girl child desires for a doll,
A boy child desires for a toy car.
A grown up child desires to play,
A youth desires a lover,
A middle aged desires for status.
An aged desires for support,
An old aged desires for peaceful death.
You will not find none without desire,
And if so, will not be a man.
A thoughtful poem, yes old age brings such pains and problems that one starts desiring a peaceful death......10

Desire keeps the human mind-body machine running - a desire-less machine comes to a halt in about three weeks as noted by some wise men. Even in the category of desires there are numerous subtle differences as no two desires are identical, that makes us individuals. Thank you for sharing this enlightening poem, Abdulrazak Aralematti. - - 10
Desire keeps the life going and yet it is important for us not to possess undesirable desires. Loved the poem and the way you have cataloged desires in different stages of man's life.
But let our desires be with righteousness. Nice piece of work.
The poem is based on the poet's observations about different stages of life. Desires motivate everyone to make efforts in life. Thanks. You will not find none without desire, And if so, will not be a man.
It is Maya or desire that we should admire no dream shall be fuilled if we are not strong willed
A wonderful poem....our longings and wants, our desires, may change. But we mortals do not change.....desire is our constant companion. A brilliant piece.

You are so right, Abdulrazak. We all have desires and they differ with age. It is how you react to those desires that is important
