Hymns Are Like

Hymns are like a spiritual injection
They remind us of the Lord
And memories always come cascading
Of the blessings through God's Word
You never know what nugget of song
May reach your heart one day
And begin the tears of rejoicing
For when Salvation came your way

Sweet the songs that soul's embrace
And hold as preciousness
Days of our walks with the Lord
His lifting of sin's heaviness
Now we not only see the light
But we walk in lightness as well
For we have a Saviour of blessed hope
Who has delivered our soul's from Hell

So many hymns have preached to me
To remind me of my Lord
And how distant sometimes I've found that my heart
Was in need of getting back to the Word
So thank you hymns for the inspiration
That the Spirit lead the authors to write
You've brought me back so many a time
By giving me songs in the night...

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
