Hurry Back To The Father Poem by Gary James Smith

Hurry Back To The Father

Rating: 5.0

Looking forward to the joy
That before Him was set
Jesus went to Calvary's cross
To release from satan's net
The grave was suprised at His tenure
Three days and He was gone
Glad proclamation filled the air
He's not here! He has arisen!

Some of His followers fishermen
Began their new careers
They would become fishers of men
Until their dying years
And then their deaths, jubilation!
Present with the Lord
Confirmation of their faith
In God's Holy Word

Hurry back to the Father
His arms are open wide
Forgiveness without measure
Flows from Jesus side
Blood that cleanses from sin
Washes white as snow
Love stretched out at Calvary
Makes the sinner whole

`Ah spring is in the air
Freshness, new life, vigour
Good Friday is on It's way
Then celebration, Easter!
All glory to the cross of Christ
His utterance 'It is finished! '
Whose light doth shine eternally
And never shall diminish.
