Hypocrisy Poem by Michelle Dragonfly

Hypocrisy

It makes me laugh.
All these people
Imprisoning others for freedom,
Fighting for peace,
Screaming for quiet,
Lying to get honesty.
Hypocrisy at its best.

Who has never committed this innocent crime?
Once or twice, daily?
Never a day goes by that isn't filled with these "innocent" crimes.
Not so innocent, added up together, since the first time ever.
You're free, or so they say.
But are you really free?

Nothing is so innocent, if you think about it.
Every crime is equal, they say.
If that's true, then lying is the same as killing.
Follow this logic with me.
Remember that lie you just told?
It just murdered someone.
Sweet dreams.

Interesting concept, every crime equal. I don't buy it, but the poem is well written.
